Paging Dr. Maberry!

Yes, the name of the perinatal specialist that we will see tomorrow (July 25th) at 12:30 is Dr. Maberry. I think it is a quaint name seeing that we live in a small town, but really he is actually one of the best in his field. Though I don't know what he is doing in Abilene, I sure am glad he's here. My OBGYN Dr. Tadvick sends all of his patients to see Dr. Maberry at about 20 weeks. Dr. Maberry checks for all kinds of birth defects in the baby as well as looks for any signs of trouble inside mommy during this sonogram. Please pray that "Sweet Bun" is healthy and strong,
that is our greatest prayer!

The doctor will also measure "Sweet Bun's" body (head, chest, limbs, length, etc.) and all of it's organs. This part is important because my original sonogram with Dr. Tadvick in my first trimester showed that "Sweet Bun" was measuring small according to my due date (FYI: All of my babies have measured "small" at that point). Normally this would not be a huge deal, but if my OBGYN goes off of the original sonogram measurement we would schedule the c-section for 3 days to 1 week past what I know is my due date (Nov. 30
th). If that were to happen, I run the risk of going into labor before the c-section is performed, which frankly means, bad news! So, Dr. Tadvick, Zach and I are waiting for Dr. Maberry to see if the organs will be developed enough to schedule the c-section before what I know to be my due date.

And last, but not least: Dr. Maberry will be able to tell us whether "Sweet Bun" is a girl bun or a boy bun! Don't forget to cast your vote (in the top left corner of our blog) as to what kind of "Sweet Bun" you think is in the oven.
